Maison Kinora - The story

MAISON KINORA was born from a passion transmitted from mother to daughter, traditions and several trips to sub-Saharan Africa. The designer says that she was amazed by the countless paradisiacal landscapes, the different cultures and the multitude of fragrant raw materials that she encountered there.

Each time she returned to Paris, her head full of memories, both visual and sensory, she thought about how she was going to share her experiences. It was in a moment of reverie that she remembered her childhood and imagined these objects that could change everyday life.

As far as I can remember, I have always had this fascination for perfumes and more particularly those for interiors. My mother used to burn scented candles with sunny smells that reminded her of her country. She would install aroma diffusers in the hallway by the entrance and walk around the house with incense from Africa… And I dreamed of the day when I would finally have the opportunity to do the same in my home, in such a special way.

Home fragrances characterize the interior, they soothe, they evoke memories, they make you think of loved ones. They are essentials of daily life and for millennia, true imprints of the African and European art of living. It is through its creations that MAISON KINORA wishes to transform home fragrances into decorative objects but also into daily travels and life companions.

Maison Kinora - Expertise

It is in our Parisian workshop that all our scented candles and home fragrances are made, tested and packaged in compliance with manufacturing standards.

Each candle is made by hand, from the sizing of the wicks to the preparation of the wax which is carefully mixed with our fragrance creations and then poured into glass containers. We decorate each candle and perfume diffuser blank manually, from the centering of the label to the little leather and velvet details on the last one.

All our raw materials are traced as close as possible to their origin, i.e. 100% European. They are carefully selected according to their composition and quality.

All our fragrances are perfume concentrates from Grasse, capital of high perfumery. They are then made to measure according to our inspirations and experiences.

We have also been accompanied by African craftsmen such as Mr. Sam Koné, a designer in Côte d’Ivoire for 10 years. He made with 100% Moroccan linen fabric unearthed in Abidjan, pouches to dress and protect our scented wax samples.
